Origin

It seems like nearly everyone has their own blog these days, and I am no stranger to the scene. Back in June 2009 I started writing a blog about my attempt to live an environmentally friendly and sustainable lifestyle.  This was really an "experiment" for my thesis, and I wanted to share my experiences with others interested in sustainability or my project.  While I felt obligated to keep writing on my blog sometimes (just for the sake of having updated it), I did not notice how much I enjoyed being able to share my thoughts and interests.  Once I stopped posting, I noticed how often I would read and article online, watch a YouTube video, or see something during the day that I wanted to share with other people.  That is really why I started this blog - just to be able to share information, events, pictures, and thoughts with anyone interested.

I landed on the name "Sustainable Cyclist," because I want to talk about sustainability and eco-friendly things, as well as cycling.  But even more, it is a pretty eco-friendly thing to ride a bike as transportation instead of driving a car.  And while these may be the two main topics of my blog, I will undoubtedly share more (like my transition and adjustment to graduate school).
